OUR ACTIVITIES
We recognise that our activities may have an impact upon the environment both through our routine internal operations and through our influence and effect on the wider community. As an advertising agency, it is tempting to underestimate the impact of our activities on the world around us and to take the view that this is something for other industries to worry about, such as manufacturing or processing. We are keen to resist this temptation and to take responsibility for own deeds, actions and opportunities. As a team of co-workers, we accept that we all have a part to play and that we cannot ignore this issue if we are to look after the world around us.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This policy applies to our operations, including management, office services, procurement, marketing, creative, development and production activities.
Mr Steve Kemp, Director, is responsible for ensuring that this policy is communicated and understood. Responsibility for day-to-day implementation lies with senior and line management and cascades throughout the organisation. Every employee will have a remit to minimise the carbon footprint that they leave in carrying out their role.
OUR COMMITMENTS
We acknowledge a responsibility for and a commitment to the protection of the environment at all levels. The business will comply fully with environmental legislation and other requirements, continue to reduce the environmental impacts of our activity and operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This policy describes how we will achieve our aim.
Specifically, we are committed to continued efforts to:
- Promote environmental management policies and practices at every level and in every area of the business.
- Increase awareness of environmental responsibilities among employees.
- Minimise waste and pollution and develop and operate environmentally sound waste management procedures.
- Continue to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and to incorporate long-term strategies for energy efficiency.
- Continue to encourage and facilitate modes of transport used by the business which minimise environmental impact.
- Reduce water consumption wherever practicable.
- Promote a purchasing policy which will give preference, as far as practicable, to those products and services which cause the least harm to the environment.
- Ensure all sub-contracted service providers are fully compliant with all relevant environmental legislation.
- Avoid, wherever practical, the use of environmentally damaging substances, materials and processes.
- Maintain the grounds and buildings of the business in an environmentally sensitive way.
- Ensure all office locations work towards a ‘paper-free’ policy.
MONITORING AND AUDITING
We will constantly monitor and manage our effectiveness in this area. Progress against our objectives will be monitored through monthly management meetings. Progress in implementing this policy will be reviewed annually.
COMMUNICATION
We will ensure that each employee receives a copy of this policy and understands the role that they are expected to play. We will update and inform the team as to our performance in this area and set ourselves stretch targets to improve each year.
TRAINING
The issue of environmentally friendly policies, practices and procedures will be dealt with during new staff induction. Thereafter, staff will receive relevant refresher training as necessary.

- Point 13 Media is a majority-paperless environment; in instances where printing is a necessity, inks are either vegetable-based or recycled inks.
OBJECTIVES AND TARGETS
We will continue to reduce the impact on the environment by following the waste hierarchy, as follows:
